Psychologist, Counsellor or Psychotherapist?
There is no minimum training or regulation for counsellors or psychotherapists, whereas the title Practitioner Psychologist is protected and requires the successful completion of a minimum of 6 years full-time academic training and research, as well considerable practical experience in diagnosis and a range of therapeutic models and settings.
Psychologist Fees
Please note that fees for Psychologists are usually substantially more than those of a counsellor or psychotherapist, due to the required level of academic training, experience and expertise.
