Counselling Psychologists are highly trained applied psychologists Chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). After finishing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, they complete a three – five year post-graduate training at University and within the NHS.
I received my first degree in Psychology (BSc Hons) from the University of London and obtained my Practitioner Doctorate in Psychotherapeutic and Counselling Psychology (PsychD) from the University of Surrey.
I then qualified for my Chartered status (CPsychol) and Practising Certificate from the British Psychological Society, of which I am also a member of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology.
I was Chartered by the Science Council of Great Britain (CSci) and gained my European Certificate in Psychology (EuroPsy), later becoming an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) when it was formed.
